More Westcliffe:
the mighty main sign, a classic 60s letterface set on a mosaic
background; the inside counter section bursting with ice-cream
offers, coffee offers and a plethora of serious light-refreshment;
interior wall details, old window signs. Rossi locals appear
to comprise hundreds of cheerfully bundled pensioners, endless
families keen to snuffle up the deserts, nonplussed day-trippers
and the odd disconsolate, wincing teen. But the main impression
is of proudly loyal customers glad to see the premises still
active and keen to keep the ebullient open-seven-days-a-week
staff in regular business. Automatic for the people!
